IMU for Radio Operators

This 2:30 hour session is designed for the Mission Radio Operator that will be using the IMU to log communications between the ICP and deployed assets. The session will cover the basic operational steps and modules that are needed to effectively log communications with assets into the IMU database for improved staff situational awareness.

The training will be a combination of Powerpoint slides, demonstrations, and actual inputs by the attendees on their computers.

In this session you will learn about:

A significant part of the training will involve a tabletop exercise in which each participant will receive and log multiple messages from simulated sorties.

Prerequisites:

    1) The IMU must be installed on your workstation

    2) Your workstation must have internet access

    3) You should have a CAP Mission Radio Operator achievement (trainee is OK)

 

All training sessions are conducted using the web based tools from WebEx.com. This services provides interactive screen displays and uses an audio confernece dial-in for voice (the number used is probably long distance for most users and any charges are your responsibility). VOI calls may also be used. Since the WebEx service is not free, I am forced to make a small charge to users so that I can recover some of the fees that I have to pay.
